Report Predicts Camera & Video Systems Gains

A recent report from the Freedonia Group predicts that cameras and video systems will experience strong growth due to “increasing affordability of feature-rich systems that incorporate enhanced capabilities.” Cameras are expected to account for about half of all video surveillance system sales through 2021. The factors contributing to these gains include: price competition resulting in more affordable products; expanding customer base and volume gains. In addition, ongoing technological advancements will provide enhanced characteristics like durability, ease of use and image quality.

The report also states that innovations across the video surveillance industry will spur owners of existing installations to upgrade – from analog to IP-based systems for example.
