Poor Password Practices Creating Risk

A recent study (https://www.securityintelligence.com/news/poor-password-practices-put-corporate-cybersecurity-at-risk) found that 25% of employees reuse the same password for all their accounts putting organizations at risk.

81% of employees who reuse the same credentials don’t even bother to protect their desktop or smartphone with a password while 23% click on potentially malicious links before verifying them.

As a result of these findings, poor password practices as well as other IT security policies are in need of constant attention and training. IT leaders and corporate management need to create an awareness program to their employees about security policies and to follow up to ensure those policies are being implemented. The alternative is damage to vital operations that affect the success of the organization.
