Staff Sergeant Mike Haarbosch
S/Sgt. Michael Haarbosch is in his 32nd year of policing with the Ottawa Police Service, beginning his career with the Gloucester Police Service. Mike spent his early years in Patrol and Traffic, doing enforcement, and riding the Harley, while also becoming the sole collision reconstructionist with the Gloucester Police. With some successful investigations into fatal hit & run collisions, his career turned toward investigations. Since 1996, as a Constable and Sergeant, he has completed assignments in Break & Enter, a 9 years assignment in Arson Investigations, embedded with the Ottawa Fire Service, Fraud, and the Robbery Unit. When he was promoted to Staff sergeant, after a short time in Patrol Operations, he was re-assigned to the Major Crime Unit. When the position opened up in the Robbery Unit, he jumped at the opportunity to lead that team, and the fast pace the robbery unit offered. In October 2016, he also assumed responsibility for the Break & Enter Unit when it was added to his portfolio.
