April 13 – CANASA BC Regional Council Meet N’ Greet Job Fair Mixer took place at Fortius with 58 attendees welcomed students from BCIT and Kwantien and brought together security industry companies who are on the lookout for the next generation of security systems technicians and business owners. April 20 – CANASA Quebec Regional Council Evening Dinner Show took place at the Sheraton Laval Hotel with 139 attendees who were entertained by stand-up comic/comedian Etienne Langevin featuring “Les mesaventures”. May 5 – CANASA Eastern Ontario Regional Council Breakfast Meeting took place at the Ottawa Police Association with 21 attendees who learned how to win friends and influence security products buyers through social media. We would like to thank our guest speaker: Julia Borgan, Director of Client Services ABORG Computing Inc. and Eastern Ontario Regional Council Members that made this event a success: Chris Izatt (Falcon Security Co.), Richard McMullen (Fleming Communications Inc.), Tom Gagnon (New Millenium Solutions), Gregg Harrison (Tri-Ed Ltd.), Martin Rollin (Site-Secure Software).

 

May 19 – CANASA Golden Horseshoe Regional Council Breakfast Meeting took place at the Holiday Inn Burlington Hotel & Conference Centre with 36 attendees who learned how cyber security is impacting the deployment of physical security technologies. May 25 – CANASA Southwestern Ontario Regional Council Breakfast Meeting took place at the Best Western Lamplighter Inn with 20 attendees who learned the benefits of integration – intrusion/CCTB/access control. June 1, 2016 – CANASA held its Annual General Meeting at the Ottawa Convention Centre with 48 attendees gathered from across Canada. The meeting included the reappointment of the auditor, Kreston GTA LLP, for the 2017 financial audit. The awards presentation immediately followed the AGM and included the presentation of the RA Henderson Award to the late Bert O’Grady, Lanvac Surveillance Inc.; the President’s Award to Anna de Jager-Duplicki, Lanvac Surveillance Inc. and the Council of the Year Award to the Québec Regional Council which includes: Michel Houde, Central Video Système (Division Dec 2642-0224 Quebec Inc.); Jean Rho, Consultants Techniques Technilogic Inc.; André Laplante, Centrale D’Alarme Bromont; Denis Primeau, Technisecur Électronique; Chantal Bélanger, Advic Securité Inc.; Vanessa Blouin, Residencia Securité Inc.; Gaétan Bordeleau, ADT Canada; Robert Branchaud, IONODES; Luc Champagne, Yvon Roy Entrepreneur Électricien (1986) Inc.; Maxime Lafreniere, CDVI Americas Ltd.; Daniel Leblanc, ADT Canada; Robert Leduc, Lanvac Surveillance Inc.; Karl St-Laurent, Secur-Icare Inc.
