 Responsibilities

While security and surveillance installations are a large part of our work, this position would also take on jobs that involve much more than just alarm systems and cameras. From “smart-home” technology implementations to enterprise networking and ULC/Fire inspection, we are delivering home automation solutions to our customers. Your priority will be to offer extraordinary customer service, find creative solutions and opportunities to promote additional ADT by TELUS products and services. Your cleverness with technology and an intuitive problem-solving nature would make you a key member of our team. Challenge yourself with us!

  • By servicing, inspecting, installing and/or repairing complex residential, business, commercial and/or national alarm systems and ULC sites
  • By enhancing customer experience by introducing available offerings within the organization
  • Identifying, analyzing and investigating customer concerns/issues

 Qualifications

You're the missing piece of the puzzle with your...     

  • Ability to provide extraordinary customer experiences, overcome objections and handle both favourable and unfavourable customer interactions.
  • Comfort with solutions based selling - recommending products to your customers and up-selling ADT by TELUS services and products.
  • Experience servicing national and/or commercial sites and your sound knowledge of CCTV, card access, IP camera systems and ULC requirements for both BA & Fire systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of signals and testing on BA & Fire systems.
  • Clean and valid Class 5 or G Driver's License or other provincial equivalent (a driver’s abstract will be required).
  • Normal colour vision which is required to work with colour-coded wiring.
  • You can handle a physically demanding workload which includes heavy lifting, climbing ladders, crawling in confined spaces and working in all weather conditions.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts (days, evenings, weekends, statutory holidays) to meet business needs.
  • Willingness to travel extensively with overnight stay.
  • Fluency in English, with demonstrated professional oral and written communications skills. Fluency in other languages would be a huge plus.
  • You are self-motivated, demonstrate effective decision-making skills and can work with limited supervision.
  • You are able to plan, organize and thrive in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment.
  • You can effectively work in a team environment and collaborate with other departments.
  • Mechanical ability, a technical proficiency and can follow safe work practices while abiding by all safety rules and regulations.
  • Strong computer skills and an enthusiasm to continuous learning, high performance and have a demonstrated ability to learn and apply learned skills to related situations.
  • Strong analytical, detail oriented problem solving skills; and a high level of professional integrity
  • Outstanding interpersonal and team communication skills with a professional, friendly and positive work ethic 
  • You are an ambitious self starter.

Great to have's 

  • Previous security/alarm installation or service experience would be a strong asset
  • Certified working at heights and lift license would be an asset
  • Security Systems Technician Trades certification would be an asset
  • ULC and Fire alarm certifications would be an asset
  • Post-secondary education in electronics, computers/IT or similar is a significant asset
