Ottawa Sub-Chapter connects with police to learn
about alarm issues
Inspector Paul Gallant of the Ottawa Police Service spoke at a breakfast member meeting on November 2, 2011, reinforcing the Sub-Chapter's strong working relationship with the police community. Inspector Gallant is in charge of the Ottawa 9-1-1 Communications Centre and provided an excellent overview of the centre, and 911 and police response to calls for service. Members received advice and information on alarm dispatch procedures and police response protocols.
Inspector Gallant also clarified components of the Ottawa Police Service alarm by-law and outlined criteria used by the police appeal board when reviewing public requests for consideration to review false alarm charges.
