Alarm Technician Course Level 1 (ATC1) – Classroom format

Course overview
This course is ideal for all alarm installers currently active in the industry. The participant should have programming knowledge of all control panel types and have independently installed at least one system. Level 1 curriculum includes preparation for installation, practical metering, input devices, installation tips, detection systems, control devices, field wiring, outputs, communications, and system design as it relates to low to medium risk occupancies. The course provides an overview of the industry with a focus on reducing false alarms and provides a minimum standard for installation, improving efficiency and quality through knowledge and standard practices.

Certification requirements
Students must have successfully completed the Alarm Technician Prerequisite course in order to complete the certification testing.

Classroom format
The delivery is comprised of two days of instruction (8 a.m.-5 p.m.) with hands-on activities. The certification examination will be administered at the end of the second day of instruction.
