Detective Sergeant Vern Crowley is a 33 year sworn member of the OPP who has been leading digital evidence investigations since 1995.

He holds a number of industry standard computer certifications (Computer Forensics, IT Security, Cyber Incident Response).

He has been declared an expert in all levels of court and is currently the OPP’s Cybercrime Investigations Team (CIT) – Outreach Manager – based out of General Headquarters in Orillia Ontario.

In this role, he is responsible for building relationships and promoting the collaboration between Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), Government Entities, Private & Public Organizations, and Academia.

He has participated as a guest panelist or keynote speaker at numerous industry conferences and trade shows, to share the latest Cyber Threat Intelligence, with the goal of raising cybercrime awareness and to promote the best cyber security practices within the Province of Ontario, thereby reducing the victimization caused by cybercrime.
