Security Solution Connectivity

It wasn’t so long ago, that the security “system” for a building consisted of an elderly gentleman sitting by the fence surrounding a building or at the gatehouse to the grounds to check on the credentials of individuals hoping to gain access to the premises.

A lot has happened since then to bolster security systems. Over the last number of years, the security guard may still be present but she/he has at their disposal now a number of tools. The mainstays of the security armour are now video surveillance cameras, access control points, glass break sensors, intrusion detection and possibly a spate of analytics software that helps interpret and better define security breaches.
As all this technology has made the lives of security professionals much more complicated, the underlying technology has not stood still. Changes from analog to digital systems, the ubiquity of wireless transmissions and the rapid deployment of fibre optic technology require security integrators, suppliers of related hardware and software and the personnel involved in the security space to be ever more aware of new advances in the technology that is taking hold of their industry.

Bill Weekes will share a few of the most current advances in the technology impacting the electronic security business with those being asked to deploy the latest of the late and make it work seamlessly for their growing clientele.
•    Learn why a copper infrastructure isn’t all that it once was.
•    Learn what kind of cable you need to install to connect that camera out in the parking lot 1000+ metres away that is clearly beyond the “90 metre rule”
•    Learn why wireless isn’t the for all connectivity requirement that everybody thinks it is.

Bring your most puzzling questions.
