Guest Speaker:
Valerie Silva, Senior Advisor, PIPEDA Investigations
Valerie is a Senior Advisor, PIPEDA Investigations at the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. She is responsible for investigating complaints made pursuant to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, Canada’s federal privacy statue that applies to private sector organizations. Valerie is a Certified Privacy Professional (CIPP/C). She studied common law at the University of Ottawa, where she obtained her LLB and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. She also holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from York University.
