Auxiliary Service Providers are common in Fire and Security Monitoring across North America but have remained largely unregulated/ monitored. During the development of NFPA 72:2025, the NFPA TC became aware of this gap and added language to the US Fire and Signaling Code to address it. Additionally, the added language included a reference to ANSI/UL 827 Standard for Central Station Alarm Systems to map requirements for a series of specific risks associated with ASPs. (ANSI/UL 827 is the quasi equivalent to CAN/ULC 301 and CAN/ULC 561) The presentation will focus upon what came next in work to meet this requirement and how interest in the topic has expanded beyond Fire monitoring and beyond the United States.

This session explores how AI can transform monitoring centers from reactive operations into intelligent, data-driven environments. Topics include alert reduction, incident prioritization, decision support, and workforce training through simulation and performance analytics.
