Reminder regarding alarm calls to London Police Service

The London Police Service has requested that CANASA bring the following important issue to members' attention. CANASA realizes the seriousness of the matter and will be consulting with members and the London Police Service.

As the London Police Service is still awaiting the final roll out of their Verified Response Program policy, they would like to ensure clarity for panic/hold-up/duress alarms.

Please be aware that all calls made to the alarm telephone line are not received by dispatch through a 9-1-1 line. The London Police Service cannot take responsibility for the alarm telephone line being answered in a timely manner.

Alarm companies must ensure that customers are aware that they will not be provided with immediate access to police when panic/hold-up/duress buttons are engaged.

See "Verified Response: Coming To a Neighbourhood Near You!" for London Police Service Verified Response Program details.
