About the program
The Alarms Systems program is offered as a Conestoga College certificate and provides you with integrated theoretical and practical learning experiences and a strong foundation in alarm systems. The goal of the program is to prepare you to function effectively in a diverse, competitive, and growing alarm systems industry. As a graduate of this program you will be competently employing up-to-date installation techniques and utilizing relevant equipment including networking, wireless and false alarm prevention. As a student in this program you will hone your installation, service, and problem-solving skills necessary in the alarm system industry. If you graduated from the Protection, Security and Investigation diploma program or other similar programs, or if you are working in the field and want to enhance your skills, this program is right for you. As a graduate, you will be ready to find employment in surveillance and investigation firms, alarm product distribution and sales, and alarm service and installation. You may also find interesting career opportunities as a sales representative for manufacturers, distributors and retailers of alarm system products, or for self-employment, contract, and consulting work.
Program information
All courses must be completed within 3 years of acceptance into the program.
Admission requirements
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or 19 years of age or older with mature student status (See Mature Student definition for details.)
Note re: admission requirements
Students must be able to receive instruction, respond and research in the English language.
