Mobile Security a Growing Concern

The expanding use of public Wi-Fi hotspots is becoming a growing concern for enterprise IT security managers. With mobility central to today’s business environment, workers are using their own devices to connect from remote locations to the company network.

A recent study from iPass Inc. (https://www.ipass.com), a leading provider of global mobile connectivity, has found that many “organizations have now implemented Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policies to empower their mobile workers. However, for all the positives this can bring 94% of the enterprises said BYOD has increased mobile security risks.”

The study of over 500 CIO’s revealed that 92% of organizations are concerned that their growing mobile workforce poses an increasing number of challenges to mobile security. More and more workers are now connecting to Wi-Fi hotspots in coffee shops, airports and hotels.
