Niagara Regional Police Service Verification Alarm Response Program
Call Sequence

In order to help prepare monitoring stations for the new verified response program, the Niagara Regional Police Service has provided the question sequence their call-takers will be using.
 
Typically, as of July 1, 2018 the structure of the call-taking will be as follows:
 
1.    What is the address you are calling about?
        a. Please confirm the address for me.
2.    What is the phone number you are calling from?
        a. Please confirm the phone number for me.
3.    Tell me exactly what is happening
4.    When did this occur?
5.    What type of alarm is this?
6.    What is the name of the business/owner/resident?
7.    Has the alarm been verified?
        a. How has the alarm been verified? (IF THE ALARM HAS NOT BEEN VERIFIED ACCORDING TO OUR POLICY WE WILL BE ADVSING YOU THAT WE WILL NOT BE RESPONDING AT THIS TIME)
8.    What specific area has been activated?
9.    What is the drop time / time received?
10.  What is the phone number of the business/owner/resident?
11.  Will you be contacting a keyholder/owner?
 
If yes…
a.     Who is responding?
         i.  I need to get the person's description
b.     How will they be responding?
         i.  I need to get their vehicle description
c.     What is their ETA?
 
If no…
a.     Call us back with keyholder information.
 
12.    An officer will be dispatched as soon as possible. Call us back if anything changes or if you have any further information.
