Strong Growth for Video Surveillance Equipment Expected
Continued strong growth is expected in 2019 for the global professional surveillance equipment market according to a report from research firm IHS Markit – www.ihsmarkit.com.
The worldwide market for video surveillance equipment is expected to expand by 9.3% in 2019 following an 8.7% increase in 2018.
IHS says that while the market is highly fragmented, the supply base for professional video surveillance equipment is becoming more concentrated. The top 15 vendors accounted for 65% of global revenue in 2018 compared with just 52% in 2014.
IHS also report that the surveillance market is shifting toward more use of network cameras which have their own internet protocol (IP) address and built-in wireless network capabilities. 70% of all security cameras that were shipped in 2018 were network cameras.
