CANASA and Security Canada Events - (Updated March 20, 2020)
The health and well-being of our members, partners and event participants is our highest priority. We wish to advise you that CANASA Regional Council events scheduled for March, April and May have been postponed, as well as Security Canada East and Security Canada Alberta. At this time, all other events are proceeding as planned. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and will make the necessary determination on future events as the situation warrants.

Health and Safety Guidelines: CANASA and Security Canada Event Participants

As a CANASA event participant, your health and safety are paramount. Heightened awareness around influenza and COVID-19 has prompted us to implement some important policies for your comfort and wellness:

  • If you have had any flu-like symptoms (fever and cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose) or have experienced vomiting and/or diarrhea within two weeks prior to an event or a Security Canada show, we ask that you please do not attend. Due to the current coronavirus situation, we are unable to make any exceptions. If sickness prevents you from attending, please contact your travel provider to change your travel plans.
CANASA is:
  • Closely monitoring the cities in which our events and shows are taking place. We will provide updates as appropriate.
  • Requesting that all participants evaluate their own health and that of those they’re in close contact with. We encourage all participants that are sick or showing symptoms of illness to stay home.
  • Requiring participants to follow the guidance of the CDC for everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses.
  • Implementing a “No Handshake” policy and requiring that all participants wash their hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing their nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • Providing sanitizers and wipe-downs for all microphones and speaker monitors.
  • Having hand sanitizers readily available to all participants at the registration area.
