About Mr. Leonard
Kevin currently holds the monitoring station committee seat on the national board of CANASA. Kevin started in the security industry in 1990 as a technician and worked his way to the front of the company currently overseeing operations as COO. Kevin’s education as an Electronics’ Engineering Technologist and his technical background compliment his natural problem solving skills. Growing up in a small family business taught Kevin valuable customer service lessons that help him maintain the high level of customer service that has made Huronia famous. Kevin is CANASA Level 2 and CFAA certified. Kevin also volunteers as the Chair person of the Police Service Board for the Township of Tiny and was a member on the latest ULC s561 committee

Changes to Standards Affecting Monitoring Stations in Canada
- CAN/ULC-S301 – Standard for Signal Receiving Centres Configurations and Operations
- CAN/ULC-S561- Installation and Services for Fire Signal Receiving Centres
This presentation will give station operators an insight to changes in standards that will affect all stations in Canada.
Many of the changes in these standards address the concerns in the industry around consistency, continuity and redundancy of the signal receiving centre in case of any emergency or event that could affect operation of these facilities.
There are new opportunities that present themselves with the new editions of these Standards the revolve around Hosted Signal Receiving Centres and Managed Video Services .

About Mr. Cavers
Alan Cavers is Engineering Manager for the Fire & Security Systems Group of Underwriters' Laboratories of Canada (ULC). Alan has been with ULC for 31 years in various capacities with the past 23 years working in the fire alarm and burglary protection area. Alan is a registered Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) Technician.
Alan is on 12 different ULC Standards Committees.
The Fire and Security Systems Group is the main resource for Authorities Having Jurisdiction, Police Departments, Fire Departments and Insurance Companies to source out and provide interpretations for field problems.
Alan is also an active member of the Standing Committee on Use and Egress for the NBCC & NFCC for the next release of the NBC & NFC for 2015 and on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Fire Alarm Association.

AHJ's Panel Discussion: One on One with First Responders
Panelists will be invited to discuss false alarm, new technology and other challenges faced by the monitoring community. It will be the opportunity to raise concerns but also to learn more about the future of alarm response. Among the subjects to be discussed, Toronto Police, RSPNDR and other panellists will be discussing challenges, what changes they for see, and how alarm response will look in the years to come.

Neil Sutton has been writing about technology and business for almost two decades. For the past eight years, he has covered the security market for SP&T News and Canadian Security magazine and was appointed editor of both publications in 2011. Neil is an active member of the Canadian security industry, participating in industry events across North America.

About Sgt Wendy Drummond
Sgt Drummond began her career as a 9-1-1 dispatcher. After a hiring freeze, she became a uniform police officer serving in 14 and 32 Division. She served 10 years in Corporate Communications, and was transferred to 13 Division as a Road Sergeant. Since then, she has been assigned to Strategy Management, Alarm Coordinator and is currently the Recruiting Sergeant at Talent Acquisition.

About Gwen Lewis
Gwen started her career in the fire service in the dispatch center, where she answered emergency calls and dispatched fire trucks and personnel to emergencies. After being in the Communications Division for 6 years she wanted to further her career within the fire service and was promoted to Fire Prevention Officer with Ottawa Fire Services. As a Fire Prevention Officer she investigated over 150 fires, enforced the Ontario Fire Code, created and delivered public education programs. In 2015, she was promoted to Assistant Division Chief where she oversees the Public Education team who also complete inspections. After being involved with the Eastern Chapter of the Ontario Municipal Fire Prevention Officers Association (OMFPOA) she became a Director on the Provincial Executive Board in 2015. In 2017 she was elected as the Treasurer and in June of 2019 was elected President.

About Mr. Pietrobono
Frank Pietrobono is the VP of Sales and Business Development for RSPNDR Inc. Frank is a 25-year Industry veteran specializing in sales and business development. Most of his time as been spent in the Electronic Security industry. He has extensive experience with manufacturing, SaaS solutions, Operations, and Customer services.
Frank’s channel management experience has allowed him to work with many large organizations in the North American market, helping them increase revenue through the acquisitions and strategic channel partners. He has held Senior positions with Tyco International, DSC, Kantech, AlarmForce, and The Automated Group.
His current role with RSPNDR has allowed him to help Dealers and Monitoring Stations create an RMR revenue stream while providing customers with a last mile service second to now.

Patrick Straw was announced as Executive Director of the Canadian Security Association (CANASA) in May 2017. Patrick has been an active member in the Canadian security industry for 30 years. During that time Patrick has worked in integration, distribution, dealer monitoring and has managed a small company of his own. Patrick has also served on the Ontario Board of Directors for CANASA and is very excited about the opportunity to serve the industry in his new role.
