CANASA Volunteer Report 2019 – A Year in Review

Volunteers are the life-blood of every organization and CANASA is fortunate to have dedicated security professionals volunteering to share their expertise, time, and passion for the association and the industry.

Regional and National Events

Over the course of the year, CANASA held many events across Canada. These gatherings provided members and non-members alike with exceptional networking opportunities as well as a forum to gain valuable insight from security and business experts all with a view of providing educational information vital for their continued success.

CANASA wishes to acknowledge and express our deep appreciation to every volunteer for the commitment of their time and expertise which has made 2019 one of the most successful years to date.

Leadership, Regional Councils and National Committees

Security Canada

Security Canada is fortunate to tap into a wealth of knowledge in the industry where experts provide seminars, education sessions and keynotes at a number of the shows across the country.

Monitoring Station Symposium

Held every 2 years, the National Monitoring Station Committee calls on industry experts to participate their time and present their unique knowledge to advance the industry.
 
CANASA wishes to recognize those volunteers working on a number of important initiatives for 2020 including:

Scholarship 2020

The Scholarship Selection Committee is comprised of a representative from each of the CANASA Regional Councils across Canada. These volunteers review applications, grade written submission and select scholarship recipients.

CANASA wish to thank the Scholarship Committee for their ongoing work to benefit students and members who wish to fund their education and careers in the security industry in Canada.

Membership Committee

The volunteers for the National Membership Committee have reviewed and are looking at other initiatives to expand and enhance membership in CANASA – Canada’s leading security association.

Education Committee

A sub-committee of volunteers are conducting an important review of the Alarm Technician Course (ATC) with a view to improving and expanding the course for 2020.
